The idea for the project came up in the autumn semester 2014 at the University of Zurich. Students in the Introduction to Multilingual Text Analysis collected news articles from the Credit Suisse website. The first result is a parallel corpus consisting of over 500,000 tokens per language.
In order to develop the project further and also include earlier years into the corpus, Credit Suisse provided us with numerous copies of Bulletins. At the same time, we received permission to use all their Bulletin texts for research purposes.
Since then, all the magazine issues have been scanned in coorporation with the Swiss National Library. We are very grateful that we did not have to scan all copies manually.
Additionally we would like to thank the URPP Language and Space for their great support.
We also gratefully acknowledge support by Abbyy, the Credit Suisse archives and the Library of the Swiss National Bank.
